Dear Secretariat,
I have read this referenced clause (Section 16.3 of the 2016 MOSA Constitution) over and over again and wonder how we managed to allow such to pass through during review.
With the clause, Tokzy, Wale and Soweto are all automatically disqualified from contesting for any elective post on Sunday. How do we ensure the continuity of the ideals and objectives of an Exco with this kind of clause. I wonder who sneaked this into our constitution.
The idea is to encourage Exmays to come into the Exco, serve in different capacities, garner experiences over the years and then aspire to be the President.
How will this ever be possible if you can only use 4 years in the Exco? It suggests that for you to be the president for instance, you must come in as the president or spend maximum 2 years on another post and then must be the president for just one term, or leave the Exco and them come back.
Pls who really want to do that?
I suggest that we include in our motion for the January AGM to either set this motion aside or totally expunge it from our constitution because it just does not make any sense to me. I wonder how we all didn’t see this during the review.
Thank you all.

Subject: Section 16.3 (MOSA Constitution 2016)
Further to our observation on provision of Section 16.3 of the 2016 MOSA Constitution, pls note that those that have served in the executive for two terms of 2years each are not qualified to contest for any elective post again. This is the interpretation of this provision in ordinary terms.
