Subject: THE MOSA ELECTIONS-DISQUALIFICATION OF CANDIDATES
Good morning and thanks Mr. Chairman.
You clarification is indeed noted and appreciated.
On behalf of the Exco and other well-meaning Exmays, I have investigated how that clause came into our constitution and can now confirm the source. I was made to understand that this clause is in the constitution of the Lagos Country Club, however the promoter of the clause erred by forgetting that ours in not a social club but an Association with an Educational background. We are all members of the Association by compulsion because we attended Mayflower School, not a free-willed membership of a club.
In associations like ICAN (the type we should be emulating), an officer-in-council grows through the ranks to become the President, sometimes spending more than 15years. Exmays sees no reason why an officer should take a break from the Exco after 4 years and then make a comeback. It makes a nonsense of continuity.
The provisions of the new constitution is about to lead us into a state of comatose, where the new Exco will be without key positions such as VP1 and Treasurer. This clause has prevented excellent hands to continue to serve the association in the persons of Exmays Olasunkanmi Idowu and Wale Abdul. I can assure you that 99.9% of Exmays are not in support of this clause, unfortunately, we didn’t see it at the EGM during review. However, I wish to remind us that laws are made for men and not men for laws.
As earlier stated, and with these "draconian clauses" sneaked into our constitution during the review, the 2016 Constitution shall be thrown open for further reviews before final adoption at our AGM. I crave your indulgence and that of members of your committee to deploy a great level of flexibility and prepare to accommodate last minute changes that may affect the conduct of our elections.
Thank you and God bless you all.

Gud evening Mr.President.
Am surprised you are saying this came to you as a rude shock. The 2016 MOSA Constitution is expected to be our guide and applying this constitutional provision should not be of any surprise particularly to stake holders who have been monitoring/following the electoral processes since we started.
This Section is very clear and not ambiguous. I do hope you'll be able to explain to those you need to explain this to.

Dear
Chairman,
This mail came to me
and members of the Exco as a very rude shock as 3 of the current Exco, who have indicated their interest to remain in the Exco, have been
disqualified.
While not
questioning your decision, but following our brief discussion on our platform, the Exco has requested that we have full information on the reasons for
the disqualification of the following Exmays:
1.
Tokunbo
Sanni
2.
Wale
Abdul
3.
Sunkanmi
Idowu.
This will enable us
to take ownership of this decision and defend same with Exmays once it is communicated to them.
