Introduction:

Welcome to Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, an iconic series dating back to the original release of this game coming out in 1997. While a great game, all the achievements in this game can be gotten pretty easily through the use of the cheat codes. You don't even really have to play the game. Only one achievement is not compatible with cheat codes which is "Artemis". I found that nothing unlocked or tracked while I played in original mode, so save yourself some heartache and play in definitive.

If you own the previous version:

First up, if you own the previous (now delisted) 2018 version of the game, it is highly recommended that you complete that version in its entirety first. Doing so will mean as soon as you sign in to this version every achievement should unlock immediately. You can redownload the delisted 2018 version from your download history in the store still, as long as you bought it before it was delisted. You will need to make sure the old version is updated to the latest available version so that all 44 achievements are available.

Campaigns:

Sprint through the campaigns by using the 'home run' cheat code. You have to start up each individual chapter and once you are in control hit 'enter' and type in 'home run'. You will instantly win. Do these for each campaign and that's done.

Everything else:

With the exception of "Artemis" everything can be unlocked with cheat codes and the campaign creator.

Conclusion:

This is a super easy completion if you're willing to use cheat codes. The title update achievements do require a bit of grinding but all are easy with the exception of "Res Publica" which could be quite difficult if you are trying to do online, depending on the skill of your opponent.

You will not do this naturally. Set up a random map, inland, set max starting resources and start setting up a bunch of houses for your villagers to build. Use the cheat code 'steroids' so that the villagers instantly finish building the houses they start on.

You have to play as the Babylonians. You will not do this naturally. Set up a random map, inland, set max starting resources, post iron age, and start setting up a bunch of watch towers for your villagers to build. Use the cheat code 'steroids' so that the villagers instantly finish building the Towers they start on.

This is probably one of the more tedious things you will do. Same gist as the other building achievements. You need to play as the Shang. Build 500 houses. You will not do this naturally. Set up a random map, inland, set max starting resources, post iron age, and start setting up a bunch of wall segments for your villagers to build. Use the cheat code 'steroids' so that the villagers instantly finish building the wall segments they start on.

Go to the campaign creator, and set up a bunch of temples. Save the campaign. Go back to the main menu now go to the campaign you created in the campaign menu. Summon the nuke car with 'big daddy'. Have the car destroy all the temples. Rinse and repeat until 200 temples are destroyed.

No animal kills under the 'steroids' cheat will count towards this. You have to manually hunt down animals and kill them with a villager. Start a tiny map, learn where all the animals are and repeatedly kill them.

Go into the scenario creator and spawn a bunch of enemy club or axe men (except archers/ranged guys) or anything really under player 2's control. Now create a river that wraps completely around the army you just made. Now switch to player 1 and spawn a bunch of priests. Save this scenario and create a campaign, and name it. Go to single player, campaigns, and select your campaign scenario. Now just convert the 1000 units.

You can and should stack this up with "Losing Your Religion" and "Eye of Horus" for converting an enemy priest and doing 20 conversions with Egyptian priests respectively.

You can stack this pretty easily with "Wololo". Just add in a priest under player 2 along with all the other units you are using to get 1,000 conversions. I wouldn't worry about the priest doing much damage - as as soon as he is converted the other units with kill him.

You can either create a custom scenario with 20 enemy heroes as an opposing player, give yourself Winsett's Z (the big daddy car) and play this as a custom campaign, or alternatively there has already been a map created by Sky Maniac for several achievements that can be downloaded HERE.

For the details of how to download and install the scenario see THIS LINK

Doing this naturally is likely to take a long time. The quickest way to do this is to boost using a custom scenario by placing a town centre / storage pit right next to a gold mine, then have a few villagers mine them using the 'steroids' cheat.
