Thats something I've looked at. I don't think its feasible as a base module because it requires some pretty heavy third part extensions on the base system itself- not something we'd be able to ship in php.

However, I do think its a tool we can use on a theme-rolling site so people can generate font sets there. I also think that distributing open source fonts through our package manager would be a worth while goal, and this may also help to that end.

ps- I replied to this on the development list. The issue's list is there so people who want to monitor our issue tracking system. This way we'll always know when someone opens, modifies or closes a ticket.

I'd suggest that we integrate a page to do that with the admin interface. The processing can be non-local, but the abilities it grants a designer are pretty compelling and would be great to have as a Mortar-branded, Mortar experienced tool.
