I knew this would be like pulling threads. In looking over
www.morphometrics.org, I noticed our members map serviced by frappr was
not working. Turns out frappr would consumed by an organization called
platial, that, itself, pulled the plug earlier this year.

Do any of you know of an alternative (I think the term is) social
mapping widget? That is, a map of the world where members can add
themselves, and we can see the progress of morphmet towards world
domination.

Probably not exactly what you want but www.neoworx.net has a lot of
gadgets that will map locations of users. I use one of these to show
locations of recent visitors to the SB morphometrics site. It is not
free however - but I think worth the small cost.

I have something like that, I think, already on the page through
http://www.geovisite.com In our case, this is less than impressive as I
think the most folks I have ever seen is three plus myself. Interesting
sometimes nonetheless.

I usually see a dozen or so on mine. Usually rather interesting. Sometimes I
can guess who it is but then I see cities in Fiji and other exotic places
and I have no idea.
