Hey everyone,

I wanted to let you know about a fun event happening this month -- the
Our House Fall Fantasy event on Saturday, October 22. A bunch of us
helped out with this last year, and it was a lot of fun -- it's a good
excuse to get dressed up and enjoy (free) dinner, drinks, and music in
a beautiful setting, and volunteer with others at MPC for a good
cause. Shannon and I are planning on helping out again this year, and
we'd love for more of you to join us (they need at least 8 more
volunteers, to be exact!).

There's a very dedicated group from MPC who help plan this event, and
Joanna Adams is a founding board member of the Our House organization,
a child care and support center for homeless families
(ourhousega.org). You'll definitely see many familiar MPC faces that
evening!

Basically, you help with greeting, registration, and the silent and
live auctions throughout the evening. Several volunteer shifts are
available, so you volunteer for half of the event, and enjoy the party
the other half. (For those of you who volunteered last year, I've been
told there are all sorts of changes this year that should make our
roles even easier.) The event is held at the Miller-Ward Alumni House
on Emory’s campus. All volunteers should arrive at 5:30 p.m. for
training, etc., before the event officially begins at 6:30 p.m.

and answer any questions you might have.

Just wanted to send out a quick reminder about the Our House event

Greetings All!

I wanted to follow up with everyone--it has been almost two weeks
since Lisa sent out the initial email about the volunteer opportunity
at the Our House Fall Fantasy event--and let you know where things
stand. Currently, we have seven awesome, amazing and fun
volunteers...I'm hesitant to list the volunteers who have already
committed because I'm sure the rest of you will then try and volunteer
all at once, as they are that good...and we only need about 3 or 4
more people. I guess I'll have to risk it! The phenomenal volunteers
already include Lisa and Shannon Harris, Tony Fishpaw and Kent Balch,
Anna Garcia, and Amy and Van Jensen. Thank you so much for committing
your evening to such an incredible organization.

Lisa did a perfect job of describing the organization and MPC's
dedication to Our House, as well as the "volunteer duties."
Volunteers will gather at The Miller-Ward House at 5:30pm on October
22nd for a quick training session--check-in, Wall of Wine, Silent
Auction Closings, computer details (we have more computers this year
and a industrial printer this year) and close-out--it will be a
breeze! Everyone will certainly have the opportunity to enjoy the
event as well. Seriously, it should be a great night--dress up, free
food, drinks and music, as well as both a silent and live auction.
You will see many familiar faces running around throughout the
evening.

Thanks again to those who have already volunteered--I'm so looking
forward to working with you. And to those who have not yet
committed...remember, there are only a few more spots available. May
the sign-ups begin!
