Everyone,

You're doing great work, and we've already produced quite a few books in a very short period of time. To keep this rate up without burning any of you out, it'd be handy to have more volunteers. If you know anyone who'd be interested and/or good at this (either proofing or prepping books), send them my way.

Also, what are y'all's thoughts on setting deadlines for each project? I haven't done that, since we don't actually have any time constraints, but I'm wondering if having a deadline to work towards might help. Not sure, though. Thoughts? Would it help you or just be a pain?

Thanks!

I haven't contributed much due to my busy life. The per page, one week
deadline is good for me but a project deadline wouldn't give me
incentive to do more because I don't have any more time to give. I could
try to work faster in the time I have but I think that would diminish
the quality of my work and not increase my output a great deal.

That was my thought as well. (And quality is much more important than quantity.)

I second Tom on this. I think the appeal of something like MTP is that it allows us to utilize the spare minutes in between the scheduled events in the day. When the church was really pushing the genealogy transcription thing, they emphasized that this is something that you do in spare moments, and I think it had its intended effect. If it were to become a more intensive, focused project then, yes, you might get the focus, but I think you'd lose a lot of potential volunteer labor.

I agree. Let's keep it low-key. :)
