I've updated the text box in Unbindery to use a Javascript text editor called Ace (ace.ajax.org). This way we get line numbers so you can tell whether you need to join lines or not.

Anyway, if you run into any problems with it, let me know. (I've tested it in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, and it works great. I don't care if it breaks in Internet Explorer. :))

Not really related, but are you still toying around with the idea of a landscape mode in Unbindery for those of us who would prefer a side-by-side layout?

Cheers,

Tod

It's still on my list, but there are a few other things in front of it. But I haven't forgotten. :)

Cool, I hear you.

Also, Ace isn't loading in Chrome (Windows 7 ver. 10.0.648.134) but works great in Firefox 4 RC. Thoughts?

Hmm, it works fine in Chrome on Mac (same version number) and Linux. Weird... Is anyone else able to get it to work in Chrome on Windows?

When you load it in Chrome/Windows, go to View->Developer->Javascript Console (you may have to click "Console" again) and tell me if there are any errors showing up there.

I just tried the feature in FF 4 and didn't get a text box at all.

No apparent errors. Attached a screen capture for good measure.

Hold on.  A shift-reload to grab the new files cleared this up. Working now in FF4/linux

Ah, yes, you'll need to do a hard reload so it'll pick up the new CSS.

Alright, it's working in Chrome now. I shift-reloaded as well. Though, when I pull up a page to proof for William Clayton's Journal there is no OCR text, when there was the last time I grabbed a page. Umm...

Hmm. Does it do that with any other pages you have assigned? (I'll restore the text for you, btw.)

Still no text. The textbox is there but no text lines.

Ah, my bad. Try it again. (I haven't yet written an admin interface for this part of things, so I have to do it manually in MySQL. It's a lot easier to make mistakes. :))

The shift-reload worked for me as well in terms of getting a text box, but in checking the last page I proofed, it will not allow me to scroll down in the text box using the scroll wheel on the mouse. Also, when I move the cursor down, the cursor continues to move down, but the text box resists the scroll and keeps returning to the top of the box no matter where my cursor is. (Chrome-Windows)

Hmm, that's weird. Do you other Chrome-Windows users have the same problem? (I can use the scroll wheel fine on my Mac, for what it's worth.)

It will actually stop going to the top if I move it all the way to the bottom, but then the cursor no longer matches up with the text.

What happens for you in Firefox and/or Safari on Windows?

Is the content in Ace supposed to be a different width than your scroller?

Eric Heaps

Umm, so I zoomed in one step and now the scroller works fine. Maybe that's why Firefox worked for me, it was at a different zoom level. So I guess problem solved, although it's intriguing that it stops scrolling when you zoom out to a certain extent.
