NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- The steady climb in Google's stock price will
face a big test when it reports earnings Thursday and investors look
for signs that the sales engine has kicked back into gear.
Hoping to see a change to the current theme of earnings this year --
the one where cost cuts have preserved profits amid a revenue slump --
investors are looking for Google to show some actual improvement on
the top line.
In a tech sector starved of sales growth, Google stands a good chance
of standing tall above the crowd.
