Here is an article from yesterday's USA Today that goes into the
significance of crosswalk safety and reiterates many of the solutions we
have discussed. It introduces a few new ones like monthly crackdowns by
the police department. Take a look at the HAWK (Hight-Intensity
Activated crossWalK), there must be a way to get this solution into the
traffic design laws that apply to State roads:
