Hi Evgenii,

Many thanks for the open codes you have provided on your sites and forums during the last years and congratulations on your work.

May I ask where I could find the dumpmatrices.exe file for directly extracting the system's matrices from .full ANSYS files?

Up to now I was using the rdfull.exe code, however it seems that with the new 14.0 ANSYS version this is not working (it gives K and M under sparse format that have all elements equal to 0). Any idea why this could be happening?

Thanks a lot,
Dimitris

Right now the simplest way to get matrices is to use the standard tools
in ANSYS:

1) HBMAT

or

2) Functionality in Math-APDL

Hi there,

I tried to use mor4ansys (using the -w command) in order to extract the system's matrices.

It seemed to work well at first, however when comparing to the matrices I got by the HBMAT command the DoF are not in the same place.

Is mor4ansys reordering the DoF in the matrix and if yes, is there any pattern to follow in order to be sure which DoF corresponds to what position?

Thanks and Regards!

No, MOR for ANSYS does not reorder the matrices. What it does though, it
reorders the output matrix - it is not a diagonal one but rather it is a
permutation matrix to get a natural node oder. But if you trace it back,
then the ordering should be the same as in HBMAT.
