I'm testing my first mootree and I've worked through several issue to the point that I've almost got it working.  (I am using tree.adopt(...).)

Depending on the browser I use, I either see all the correct graphics and lables, but spread across the page (i.e. not left aligned) or I see the tree properly aligned but only the folder icons and no expand/collapse icons.

Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Try isolating whatever it is you're working on - for example, try disabling your style-sheet.

I just re-tested the examples in IE9 and the latest version of Chrome, and it still works - that's all I can do though, sorry. I wrote this script, used it on a couple of projects, but haven't used it in many years...

Solved.  Two errors.  First of all I had messed up the <!DOCTYPE...> tag.  Fixing that fixed the alignment of the graphics.  Secondly there was an error in the unordered list I was adopting (misplaced </li>s), and although it displayed correctly in the browser mootree couldn't make sense of it.
