controller div outside of main slideshow div for z-index above another div

Hi,
I have a slideshow that uses a transparent "frame" sitting above the slideshow. I want to have a controller above this frame but as the z-index from the parent div is inherited I would need to have the controller div outside of the slideshow div. Is there any way to do this?
You can see a sample of this at http://www.orveasbay.com/captains-quarters.php. I would like to place the controller above the ferns at the bottom of the "frame" but the z-index part of this is tricky.

Can you simply move your div#fernCedar inside the div#show and then change the css to top: -45px & left: -30px (or so) And change the div.slideshow-controller to top: -100px
