Hi All,

I just finished rewriting my site. I use the Ken Burns effect of
slideshow to go through a pile of 600x600px images on the splash page.

It looks great [at least I think so :-) ], with IE, Chrome, and
Safari, but is slow for Firefox (version 12, Windows 7)

Please take a look at http://www.lapsaky.com

Has any else found this problem, or identified ways to avoid it?

I know the site still needs work to make it clean and faster. I am
sure I could avoid the problem by replacing the burns effect with a
"push", and I can eliminate many of the pictures to make it more
lightweight, but there are other ways to improve things I would
appreciate advice

Thanks

Phil

Hi Phil, you've made your JPEGs as light weight as possible?

Yes, the jpegs are pretty light weight. The point is that the
performance is much worse with firefox than the other browsers on the
same platform and OS. It must be something about the my setup, but I
was hoping that people might have found a way around it.

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but if you're banging your
head against the wall, I'd wait until the next FF release and see if
that resolves the problem. If it's working well everywhere else, that
might be your best course of action. Not very satisfying, though... IE
9 is the big stumbling block for me. If you can get the show to work
well there, then congratulations!
