All,
I am looking to hire a postdoc here at the University of Florida. The position is described below:
A computational materials science postdoctoral position is currently open in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois. The position will involve the development of mesoscale models to predict the coevolution of material microstructure and properties using the phase field method coupled to other physics, such as mechanics and heat conduction. The work will be carried out using the MOOSE framework, and will involve contributing to the open-source MOOSE project. The postdoctoral researcher will develop new phase field models to look at physical phenomena in nuclear materials and other applications. They will verify and validate the models, quantify their uncertainty, and improve the numerical approach to increase efficiency. Finally, they will use the models to investigate material performance. The research will also involve close collaborations with experimentalists. In addition, the postdoctoral researcher will be expected to present at technical conferences and publish their work in high impact peer-review journals.
If you are interested in the position, please contact me.
If you are aware of anyone that may be interested in the position, please let them know about the opportunity.
Thanks!
Mike
