Hi all,
I  have installed MOOSE software in my 64 bit Ubuntu 14.04 based netbook.
I am trying to start with a phase-field simulation of Cu6Sn5 growth in liquid tin solder over a solid Cu substrate.
MOOSE is an appropriate software for phase-field simulation. Can anyone guide me with some beginner's tutorial in MOOSE?
I am catching up with Workshop Slides and Workshop Examples as given in http://mooseframework.org/documentation/

Thank you.
Yours
Anil Kunwar

Hi Anil and/or Roma (!?)

You might also like looking at

http://mooseframework.org/wiki/

Under “Application Use” there is quite a bit of information, and under “Application Development” too.  Don’t be frightened by the latter – it’s not just for developers – eg, there is a lot of doco in Physics Modules/Phase Field.

Also, please note that those workshop slides are usually presented over a THREE day intensive workshop.  Please don’t imagine that you’ll be able to master everything in only a few hours, unless you’re already extremely good at finite elements and C++.

There are many tools that are part of the modules of MOOSE that help with phase field modeling, and indeed there are many people using MOOSE for phase field modeling. A good place to start is:

I would recommend you look specifically at the Tensor Mechanics and Phase Field modules.

We have a few examples from our manual in detail here: http://mooseframework.org/wiki/MooseExamples/

We will be adding more, hopefully soon.
