All -
I wanted to make you all aware of a
post-doc and
summer student job openings that we have at Los Alamos National Lab right now. The tasks focus primarily on material science applications supporting civilian nuclear energy technology. The job ads are broad on purpose to attract computational material scientists at different physical scales:
- Fuel performance model development using lower-length scale informed data to build mechanistic and predictive models for nuclear fuel;
- Mesoscale model development related to fission gas behavior in fuel and sintering of ceramics;
- Density functional theory studies of fundamental defect properties in metallic alloys and ceramics;
- Thermodynamic assessment of complex environments.
Familiarity with the MOOSE ecosystem is preferable, although there are opportunities for atomistic and micro-structural level modeling using other codes as well.
Please take a look, share with your colleagues, and let me know if you have any questions.
