Using the phase field module when modeling grains, is there a way to specify the orientation of the grains?
Thanks

I know that when we use the EBSD reader data it's part of the data structure so it can be retrieved. I'm not sure if there's any normal built-in way for the Voroni or random ICs though. If you are running a reduced order parameter run, you'd have to make sure you used the GrainTracker so that you had unique IDs for each grain. In other words, I'm not sure if we have anything canned ready to go for you, but it's not hard to get there.

Grain orientation is provided by objects that are derived from EulerAngleProvider (which the EBSDReader happens to be). We also have an EulerAngleFileReader to read in a text file with orientation information (which can then be used with Voronoi ICs etc.).

The basic grain growth model cannot use the grain orientation. We can create a user object that contains unique Euler angles for every grain, but it would not be used in a normal grain growth simulation.

What do you plan to use the grain orientation for?

Okay, thank you. I figured I might need to use the grain tracker and make a little change for my case.
I will be using the grain orientation to find the diffusion coefficient of an anisotropic grain.
