Moonfire NVR has a lot of its own jargon to describe its recording format and other internals. I just added a glossary to give an authoritative definition of its terms and how they relate to standard pieces like RTSP, ONVIF, and MPEG-4:

Comments welcome! I'd like the explanations to be very clear. I'm also open to changing the terms themselves if folks can suggest better alternatives.

LOL -- I immediately jumped into edit mode to add "wall duration" and "media duration" (without definitions) after reading your recent update several minutes ago and lo, you're one step ahead.  I didn't get up early enough this morning.
