I mentioned the Moonfire-nvr project to a software savant and was then asked:

I'd like to set up a camera in the basement that I could look at from my mobile phone?

There are three things that come to mind from this question:

• camera power
• network -- within a home network, or the ability to access through a firewall
• storage

While the documentation at the Moonfire-nvr site is extensive and thoroughly considered, it may be too much to consume for someone completely new, especially someone having no experience with single board computers.  Therefore, I'd like to create a table that provides an executive summary showing the range of options and their cost.   Then viewers have an idea of costs going in and can decide how much time they want to spend researching and assessing knowing that they will eventually have to part with some monies.
