Sothen one only needs to figure out how Super Mario World differs from the other SNES games. Does the name perhaps contain some special or hidden character? I suggest to manually rename both the cheat archive and the rom file to make sure.

So, it perfectly fits. The CRC chechsum in the cheat.zips square bracket is exactly the same as from the No-Intro rom. No-Intro rom+cheatfile names are always a match. Unless you use hacked/translated stuff, as i said before.

edit: If you use the PAL version (not recommend anyway), them manually change both file names to an identical name. This works too, i've tried that. But it could be that the cheats aren't 100% compatible then.

This page contains a list of cheats, codes, Easter eggs, tips, and other secrets for Super Star Wars for Super NES. If you've discovered a cheat you'd like to add to the page, or have a correction, please click EDIT and add it.

When you get to the entrance of the Womprat boss STAY THERE!! DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER. When you get it in sight start shooting while you jump up and down. You will see that it will be a lot easier and you will not lose any

When you get to the tractor beam core there will be two enemies, destroy them. When you have destroyed them do not jump or else the core will start firing at you. Just stay there and point the weapon up, and start shooting it will take longer, but you will not get hit.

You need two controllers for this to work. When Start Game and Options appears, press quickly in this order: A, A, A, A, X, B, B, B, B, Y, X, X, X, X, A, Y, Y, Y, Y, B. Then press Start to start the game. The first notification that the code worked is that you can choose from three people, Luke, Han, and Chewie. For Stage Select, press Start then press Select on Controller two and you will finish the Stage immediately. Press L and R

When the Options screen appears, move down to the options select but don't go in. Then push: Y, Y, X, X, A, B, X, A. If you did it right you should hear a jawa scream. NOTE: This code cannot be used with other codes.

On the Tusken Raider level, make your way to the place where you have to jump on the falling rocks. Let yourself fall off the cliff and you will enter a little cove filled with extra lives. Get them all, then kill yourself

I originally researched these cheats back when I played 64 Okunen Monogatari in 2003, but didn't release them until now, as I don't have an account at any of the cheats forums and don't intend to ever make one unless completely necessary.

When I got E.V.O. Search for Eden in 2006, I tested my cheats with it too. So, I can gladly inform you, that the cheats featured in the section below will work for both the Japanese and the English version of the game.

These cheats allow you to change your body parts into any body parts available ingame. This even includes the ones exclusive to the red crystal transformations and glitched ones, you were never meant to be able to encounter ingame.

Replacing XX with any hex value from 00 to FF allows you to change your current body part to anything possible ingame. Just make sure not to use, for example, two different Jaws modfier codes at the same time.

Some of MiSTer's cores have the capability to apply cheats in-game. The cheats are in a specific format and are automatically pulled from gamehacking.org's website when you run the downloader script. These cheat files have specific rules that govern how they can be used.

If the .zip cheat file does not match the ROM name, the cheat engine will automatically check the ROM CRC32 and select the appropriate .zip cheat file with matching CRC32 accordingly. ROM name matching has priority over CRC32 checking.

Since CD-ROM images are large, the MiSTer purposefully doesn't do CRC32 hash checks for CD images. You will need to place the cheats you want into the same folder as your cue/bin or CHD file, in order to use cheats with it. Typically the cheat-matching with your CD-ROM image is done by matching the filename of your CUE/BIN, CHD, or ISO with the filename of the cheat zip file. The Playstation core uniquely allows for this method and has an additional method to load the cheat based upon the internal Game ID (e.g. SCUS-94163). Please note, if the cheats do not load, then check the following:

All types of cheat codes for 16 bit systems and earlier can be decoded into four pieces of information: An address, a compare value, a replace value, and usually a flag to say if the compare value is used or not. The format for a gg file is in binary as 4 32 bit integers in little-endian byte order.

The first four bytes are little-endian 0x00000001 for "compare enabled", the second four are little-endian address, third set are compare value, and fourth is replace value. Note that not all codes use a compare value.

I noticed that it's hit-and-miss when it comes to cheat-support using the cores in Retroarch, e.g. DKC1 cheats work, DKC2 cheats don't. I tried SNES-9x and the various BSNES cores. I ended up using Higan, there all cheats work perfectly, but Higan is not integratable into Launchbox

@Eirulan I think there was a thread about cheat support in Genesis Plus GX and SNES cores over on the RetroArch forums this very week. Hopefully something is being done to get all of these working soon. Here is a link to the forum thread:

This tutorial will show you how to add cheat files and load them with RetroArch on your hacked SNES Classic. You can add Game Genie & Action Replay cheat codes for many games and different consoles (SNES, NES, N64, etc.).

1. Load game on SNES Classic, press Start + Select to open the RetroArch menu, and go to Cheats. (Make sure the game is running in RetroArch. By default, all non-SNES games will load in RetroArch. To run SNES games in RetroArch, read our tutorial here.)

4. Go down to see list of cheats. Turn on cheats and hit Apply Changes (in some cases you may need to restart the game for the cheats to apply - simply go back to the menu and hit Restart).

Again, there are no codes to help here, but if you want to change your name without restarting the game, go to the member screen and select the file to edit. Press L, R, and A at the same time to open the Name Entry Screen.

In World 3, Stage 2, enter the first door and follow the bunny rabbit to the top. Wait for the bunny to turn its back on you and vanish. Enter the area where it disappeared to discover an extra life and some star pieces.

There are few cheats for Super Mario World, but if you want some unlimited lives, head to the Top Secret level which can be found via the hidden exit in the Donut Ghost House. Once there, grab Yoshi from the block in the middle, then exit the stage. If you keep entering and leaving the stage you can get a 1-up from the middle block every time.

Super Metroid has a selection of different endings to enjoy. To see the easiest ending, just complete the game with more than 10 hours on your save file. To see the second-best ending, complete the game between 3:01-10:00 hours. And to see the best ending, finish the game in under 3 hours.

Go to the Options menu (the last item on the main menu) and select the Game Mode option. On the next screen wait for 10-15 seconds and a ? will appear followed by a message in Japanese. If you select Exit Game Mode, you will now see a new Custom option. Here you can edit various gamplay options, including Puyo Puyo colours.

To play as the Nintendo team, select a two-player exhibition game. Player 1 can choose any team. When Player 2 holds down Start and B on any other team it will change to the Nintendo team.

Game Genie is a line of video game cheat cartridges originally designed by Codemasters, sold by Camerica and Galoob. The first device in the series was released in 1990[1] for the Nintendo Entertainment System, with subsequent devices released for the Super NES, Game Boy, Genesis, and Game Gear. All Game Genie devices temporarily modify game data, allowing the player to do things unintended by developers such as, depending on the game, cheating, manipulating various aspects of games, and accessing unused assets and functions. Five million units of the original Game Genie products were sold worldwide,[2] and most video game console emulators for the platforms it was on feature Game Genie code support. Emulators that have Game Genie support also allow a near-unlimited number of codes to be entered whereas the actual products have an upper and lower limit, between three and six codes.[citation needed]

In 1993, Codemasters began development on a "Game Genie 2", with Galoob to market and distribute the device in North America,[3] but no Game Genie devices were released for the fifth generation of consoles. Other companies have produced similar hacking devices such as the Code Breaker, Action Replay, and Game Shark. The Game Genie brand was later revived by the company Hyperkin, who released cheat systems for newer consoles.[citation needed]

The original Game Genie systems were pass-through devices that attached between a cartridge and the console. Upon starting the console, the player is presented with a menu to enter a series of characters, referred to as a "code", that reference addresses in the ROM of the cartridge. Each code contains an integer value that is read by the system in place of the data actually present on the cartridge.

Because the Game Genie patches the program code of a game, the codes are sometimes referred to as patch codes.[4] These codes can have a variety of effects. Most published codes give the player some form of invulnerability, infinite ammunition, level skipping, or other modifications that allow the player to be more powerful than intended by the developers. In other cases, codes can make the game more difficult or even unlock game features that developers had scrapped and rendered unreachable in normal play.[citation needed]
