As as 9:30am, April 13th, 2009, our group is the proud owner of 5
members!

Criss Martin is joining our group from McKinney; here is the
introduction he sent me:

"I live in McKinney so check on the being in the Dallas area.

As far as what I hope to get from the group is experience working in a
team on a game, networking with people with like intrests, and good
times. I'm trying to make a big push to land a job at a game studio
and I see this a being a way to add to my personal portfolio. I don't
know if I mentioned this in my request, but I'm a programmer. I've
been using C# at my job for the last 3 years, so I'm good on that, but
haven't had much interaction with XNA. I'm a quick learner though, so
I shouldn't drag anyone down too much."

Awesome and Welcome Criss! Looking forward to meeting you.

Trey, are we still on for meeting on 4/22?

We're still on. :-)  7pm, at the Panera Bread Co.

The next XNA Users Group meeting is on the 20th, just 2 days before that.  Rick and I are planning to do some more marketing for our group, and we're wanting to start up a separate team for a long-term project for the Dream-Build-Play 2009 contest (http://www.dreambuildplay.com/main/default.aspx).  Even if you don't plan to compete in the contest, you should still register.  Registering gives you a free 12-month subscription to the XNA Creators Club, which gives you access to premium content, plus the ability to upload to the XBox.

The next users group meeting will be on state machines, which should be all sorts of fun, and it looks like I'll be doing a presentation in May on XNA Game Components and Services.

Howdy All!

Thanks for the welcome. I should be at the XNA Users Group meeting so
I'll be looking forward to meeting everyone there.

I won't be making to the XNA Users Group meeting, but I will see you when we meet up for our next session, or prior. Hey Trey, who is the fifth member?

Rick Spencer makes 5.  He missed our first session due to a complete failure of his home computer, but he's planning to be at our meeting on the 22nd.

What's going on at the meeting? Anything regarding our game, or our team?

The XNA Users Group meeting this month will be on state machines.  I've seen the code that Rick is working on for the presentation, and it's going to be cool.  He has this idea that could convert an entire game from the UI down to the actors into one giant state machine.

There's also cool door prizes.  Last month Matt won a great book on XNA programming.
