Evan Eubanks has joined the Moogle Lodge, bringing our membership to
4, with hopefully more to follow. We need to pin down exactly when
our first jam session will be.

The jam session should start 10am Saturday, and go until 10am Sunday.
This is due to some scheduling needs on Matt's end. I'm thinking that
we should hold our first session either March 21st or March 28th. Do
we have any opinions on which day?

Welcome Evan!

Both saturdays are good for me, but if I had to pick one it would be the 21st.

Thanks again Trey for your help and knowledge on saturday. It's really appreciated!

Yup, I can do both as well - but the earlier one is preferred! I'll poll my co-workers tomorrow and see if they would like to join us.

21st works for me.  It’s now on my calendar. J

And let me know if either of you want to meet for another XNA overview.

Are we going to be using some type of version control software? If so, which? I'm familiar with subversion and TortoiseSVN, but I'd like to learn Perforce as well.

Definitely using version control!  I would never write a piece of software without it. :-)

Most of my experience is with SourceSafe, and I have a SourceSafe server running on my home network, but I have a lot of experience with subversion as well.  I've never used Perforce, but apparently you can use Perforce free if you're writing open source software.

Personally, I'm thinking we should use subversion.  Assembla (http://www.assembla.com) does open source project hosting, provides a subversion repository, plus has a bunch of project management features which might come in handy.  I have a project hosted with them here (https://www.assembla.com/wiki/show/penguin-force) that demonstrates the features provided.

This Saturday will be my last free Saturday before the jam session.  Drop me a line if anybody wants to meet up.  The Panera Bread Co we met at last Saturday seemed to be a pretty good spot.

Evan: It would be good to meet you in person sometime before the 21st, just so that we all have an idea of who we're going to be working with.

Unfortunately I will be out of town for a wedding this Saturday. Maybe sometime the following week? It would be great to meet up :)

We'll have to pick an evening.  What time are you normally released from work?

7pm at gearbox on 75/Park. Maybe grab some dinner or something? I will be busy on that Wednesday for a basketball game - the other commitments can be rescheduled if need be - just let me know when you peeps are free.

How about next Tuesday?  We can meet at the Panera at 75 and Campbell for dinner.  I'll plan to be there a little after 7pm.  I'll probably be the only guy there with a laptop + a huge backpack, so I shouldn't be too hard to find.

How about you Matt?  Are you available Tuesday evening?

Tuesday at 7pm is fine for me too. Don't forget this weekend is daylight savings and we spring ahead an hour. :)

Hah!  I was completely unaware of that!  Thanks for the update. :-)

I will see you both next Tuesday then.  Feel free to bring anyone else you know who might want to get involved.

So, we're meeting this Saturday at 10am, going until 10am Sunday.  Everyone should bring some money for food and drinks. We'll probably just order some Dominos pizza (it's right down the street from where I live).

My address is at 8620 Park Ln. Apt. 207 in Dallas, and you can call me at (214)960-7275 when you get lost.  Everybody gets lost the first time.

And come with some ideas of what you would want to build.  We'll probably spend the first our getting situated and talking about our first project.

Also, I only have 2 computers, and I will be using one of them.  I think Matt will be bringing a computer.

Evan: you can use my laptop, but if you have a desktop/laptop computer of your own you'd be better off bringing it along.

I also have a scanner and a graphics tablet we can use.

Yup, I have a laptop. Two of the art guys bailed for Saturday, and I haven't gotten a response from the third just yet (probably the same answer though), so that means we will have how many there... three?

That means it'll probably just be the 3 of us.  Matt can do audio, and I can do some graphics, plus I have a bunch of game graphics that I've built up over time.  It would still be awesome to have an artist join us. :-)

I'm just now getting home from a night out, so I might be a bit late. Just a heads up.

Evan,

Get here when you can.  We’ll hopefully have a game concept going by the time you arrive.
