I just got an e-mail about hosting next year's Global Game Jam. This
is the event (http://globalgamejam.org/) that I went to last year that
got me started on the game jammin' kick. A 48-hour game development
free-for-all... It was beautiful... And it was in Austin. I want it
to be in Dallas also this year, which is how I ended up on their
mailing list.

Anyway, I am on the lookout for a venue where we can host around 40
people for 48 hours. If any of you have any ideas, drop a line here.
I'm going to be contacting all of them.

Why not try the Guildhall?

Just got done sending them an e-mail. :-)

That would be a great spot for hosting. I don't think they have a
computer lab though do they?

That would be awesome if Microsoft would host the event. :-)

lol @ Panera... That would be awesome to stuff 40 game developers
into Panera for 48 hours...

Josh: mind if I CC your Microsoft address when I e-mail Chris? It
might help me get a response.

If you do it on a Saturday and Sunday I think that Guildhall might be accommodating.

The Global Game Jam is at the end of this month and I was wondering if
anyone was still interested in participating. Currently the GGJ
website doesn't show any Dallas area locations. Did anyone have any
luck back in July finding a host location?

I was working on it for about a month, before my personal life became
too complicated to deal with an event of this magnitude. I won't be
able to go to the Global Game Jam this year, but if anybody else plans
to go I think it would be fun for us all to get together and review
the game that comes out of the event.
