Glad to hear you guys are on the road again.
Good for you!
By the way, replaced all my keel bolts. Had to cut three of the nuts off as they were rusted to the washer plates and the impact wrench rounded the nuts. After cutting the nuts half off, they came off easily and the studs came out easily.
Didn't drop the keel. After viewing all the studs and seeing they were clean, I realized there were no leaks to the bolts. I ground back about 1/4 to 3/8 inch in the seam, cleaned the metal keel real well in the interface, and recaulked with 5200. By the way, I primed the top few inches of the studs and the nuts so I could get something to stick to them later when I decide what to paint them with.
Also replaced all the underwater seacocks. Some of the mounting holes were impossible to access with even a 1 foot long drill bit, so I screwed in the mushroom fittings from the inside with the seacock on the outside and drilled the holes from the outside. Worked great.
Bolts are all in, Seacocks are all in.
Painting bottom, polishing topsides and adding a new bootstripe, then splash hopefully next weekend.
That will be SIX WEEKS on the hard! Phew!
Hopefully never have to do this kind of thing again, and hopefully no bottom paint for 10 years.
Hope your summer goes fine.
I look forward to seeing you at Annapolis this October.
Hi to Stephanie..
