Hello all,
We have a 1988 Moody 376, s/v Grace, that we are considering selling.
She is a great boat that took great care of our family for a fantastic adventure in 2006/2007 sailing from Maine to the Bahamas to the DR and then back to Virginia. Since then our adventures have continued overseas but now by Airbus… After getting off the boat, we have been living and working in Lugano, the Italian part of Switzerland and just finalized some plans that will have us there for the next 4-5 years to rebuild the cruising kitty. We will be headed back out for a 2 (ish) year adventure when our boys will be middle school aged. When they were ages 2 and 4, they fit very neatly into the V-berth of a 376. But the boys will probably be 12 and 14 by the time we would realistically be back on Grace. So as difficult as it is, we will probably put Grace up for sale and look for something a bit bigger in 4-5 years (perhaps a 419 as we are huge fans of Moody’s).
Grace is currently on the hard in Deltaville and I will be heading down there in the next few weeks to make arrangements to put her up for sale.
Seeing the email traffic bouncing around, I thought I might put this out to those who already know and love Moody’s in case they or anyone they know would be interested. I don’t have a sales price or the full spec sheet yet (I will in next few weeks). But she is extremely well set up for live aboard cruising with extra water tankage, custom seat for nav station and custom shelving system in place of the pilot berth, arch with davits and solar panels, 10 RIB with 15hp 4 stroke and a crane to lift the motor to the rail. All the kinks have been well worked out and she is now really well set up. Until we re-upped for another 4 years we have been planning to go back out on Grace. So everything that has been done has been done with the intention of long term, live aboard use by a family. She has been stored in good condition with a good cover and the regular attention of the yard (paid) and the bi-annual attention of the great friends we met cruising (unpaid but so much more valuable) who pass through Deltaville every year.
I don’t have detailed interior pics yet, but there is a well-documented year of coastal and offshore live aboard cruising including many boat pics at our website www.svgrace.net.
If you know anyone who is interested please have them contact me. I am in the US until July 10 and can be reached at 860-910-8986. After that you can use the contact number (US number that will forward to Switzerland but without any intl charges for the caller). Just remember we will be 6 hours ahead of US East Coast.
Ciao,
Brett McMillan
