Getting started and using tmcbeans

Hi,

I'm having problems with week 1  on Assignment 1, Port Scanner.

This is my first time using tmcbeans, and my first, more general question is if there is some sort of guide I can skim through to familiarize myself with it.

Secondly, for the very first assignment of week 1, Port Scanner, I am trying to very simply run the code that's been provided to us, (I have not edited the code in any way), but I am encountering this error:

"Cannot run program "/Applications/tmcbeans.app/Contents/Resources/tmcbeans/java/maven/bin/mvn" (in directory "/Users/my_username/NetBeansProjects/mooc-securing-software-2017/Set1-01.PortScanner"): error=13, Permission denied"

Would anyone have suggestions on how I can go about to fix this so that I can get started?

I was able to follow these two sites and using the terminal, provided the appropriate and necessary permissions to tmcbeans:
