Hi,

I'm new to Java but have some experience in PHP and Javascript. The Helsinki Java course part 1 says it will take about 6 weeks to complete, but I'm wondering how many hours per week of work that is based off. I need to provide a time estimate to my employer.

Best regards,
Devin

Its really hard to say how long it really takes to complete each of the exercise set (week) - what we can tell is that it varies a lot.
I'd say that it takes anything from 8 hours to 20 for each exercise set. However, with prior programming experience the first few weeks, at least, probably feel easier and are faster to complete.

The course of which we the Java part 1 is based on is worth 5 credits (one credit is around 21 hours of work) but that's like the upper limit...
