Hi guys,

This is my first post here. Thanks for accepting me here.

I've been developing software as consultant to HP Labs and i've been working with software-defined networks. I'm moving to Québec next month and I would like to know if somebody is working with software-defined networks SDN, Mininet or Openstack in Montréal or Québec.

I'd be glad to talk a little bit about these tools which use Python in their core.

Thanks,
Icaro Camelo

We, at eNovance, work on at least OpenStack and SDN. May be you could
have a talk with Nicolas Planel (in Cc.) who's one of the lead devs on
network related stuff?

What a nice introduction! Thank you very much!

I've been working with HP SDN Van Controller, a SDN controller made by HP. Although we have physical switches we are using a lot of virtualization, mainly using Mininet (written in Python) to simulate and create networking topologies. We basically create NFV (network function virtualization), such as firewalls, load balancers etc.

Recently we have begun to integrate this solution with Openstack Neutron.

Are you guys very experienced in Openstack?

Thanks,

Have you looked into OpenDaylight at all? It's a Linux Foundation project that's doing a lot of SDN, and two of the admins behind the project are in Montreal.

Best,

We are basically in the top 10 contributors to OpenStack [1][2]. And
we should be actively working on NFV very soon [3].

I'll let you, Nicolas, and Montreal Python discuss about the
network-related technical details. Which is not my personal technical
playground. ;)

Cheers,

I would like to share my knowledge as well as discuss about SDN.

Sometimes, I got scared about the fact that few people know about SDN here in Brazil and even in North America.

Sorry for the delay, but I was establishing myself in Québec City. :)

@Konstantin,
By the way, I have been playing with OpenDaylight too, but mainly with HP SDN VAN Controller, but I would love to work in a project using it.
