Since we're expending to include more functional programming languages, and since a lot of Clojurian are polyglot programmers, if only out on necessities, I'll permit myself a few posts outside Clojure realm.

This one even further than usual, since Ruby is more OO than FP, although it does have some nice mapping operations.

It's a advertisement for a Ruby learning class. It's a bit heavy on the marketing side, but what makes it interesting, to me, is the emphasis on community building, learning and support rather than on learning Ruby per se.

I grew up when programming was a rather solitary activity, and going to user meeting or collaborating with "strangers" on a project does not feel natural to me. I think classes like these are a great way to break the ice.

Thanks for sharing Jeff, I like this approach of collaboration and sharing versus learning a language in a silo...
