Design Committee of the Montpelier Alive downtown group is meeting on
January 25th at 5:15 pm in the Memorial Room of City Hall to discuss
Bike Parking in conjunction with the improvement of the Blanchard
Block.
They are working on a long-range project to improve the back of the
Blanchard Block and one of the elements that they're interested in
including is a parking space or structure for bikes, especially for
bike commuters. They have identified the concrete "pad" on the north
side of City Hall as a potential location for such a facility
(centrally located but out of the way). They are looking for design
ideas for a parking structure for people who want to leave their bikes
all day while they are at work. The potential is for something
covered, but most likely not a locker style structure. Funding is
also a question at issue here.

so they can plan on how many might attend. Meeting usually finishes by
6:30pm so everyone can get home for dinner.
