For the people in Montpelier: PLEASE CONSERVE WATER.
Our wastewater treatment plant is experiencing flooding and there is a need to limit water flow to the plant.
It may be necessary to turn the water system off due to the wastewater problems. We have not issued a boil water notice yet but we will have to if we shut off the water system.
Please tell people to stay out of the Montpelier area if possible. The parking lots are flooded. Many roads are flooded or damaged. We need to limit use of our water and sewer systems.
Looking ahead: afternoon and evening storms are projected to possibly bring another 2-4 inches of rain to our area. This will be less than the 5-7 inches we received last night.
