Dear Montpelier Alerts,

Several of you have brought to my attention (thank you!) that my address was used earlier today to send a virus with a filename of SeX.mpg to the Montpelier Alerts listserv.  I apologize.  I have disabled that address for the time being, and I will disable this one as soon as I send this message, so it doesn't happen again.  It wasn't sent from my computer, in fact, but rather from someone out there who was able to make it look as if it came from my e-mail address.  This is a hazard of listservs - we will correct this when we update our web service later this year.  We won't rely on googlegroups at that point, but will have a listserv capability of our own.

The virus could potentially be dangerous for your computer, so please do what you can to make sure it is deleted.  From what I have read, you do need to double click on the file to infect your computer, so as long as you delete the message without doing this, you should be OK.

Every new solution comes with its own problems - again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience this caused you.

Cheers, Gwen.
