Photo of to be donated 28+ acres by McElhenney family. On Dec 8, 2011 this will be on City Council agenda to be accepted into Watershed Dept. =
20+ acres & PARD = 5+ acres.
Watershed's 20+ acres is in the 100 yr FEMA floodplain. Very beautiful & effective in processing rainwater. The Frontier at Montana HOA hopes that this area will remain a natural area with trails.
Folks from the neighborhood who have grown up in Montopolis have many memories of this land, a forest in our community which will be added to the cultural assessment for City Council members review & enjoyment.
Neighbors also hope to work with PARD in planning uses for the new parkland.
Many thanks to all who have helped this dream become a reality, especially the McElhenny Family who have been good stewards of this land for many years.
Pam
