Last week I put up fliers all around the Boulevard Manor Neighborhood for the Community Service Project Homeless Children Food Collection Drive. It’s part of AFAC’s Backpack Buddies program (BPB), which sends the Arlington Public Schools homeless kids home with food for weekends and holidays in backpacks.
So far, we have had very little in our collection box, which is outside the Brethren Church main door. I haven’t checked this morning to see if there is something in the box after the weekend, but I’m urging you to help with this drive and to give today.
All of the AFAC requested BPB food items can be bought in any grocery store. Here is a modest shopping list you could print and take with you whenever you hit the store:

Drop your purchases in the collection box at Brethren Church on your way home. Easy, and if we are successful in this drive, AFAC will expand its BPB effort to the summer months. So come on, let’s fill that collection box and help hungry kids in Arlington get fed.
