Hi All:
Happy Spring on the first day of this blessed season.  This Sat. March 23, we have a fitting seasonal event: Plant Seeds, Grow Hope at the Brethren Church, at 300 N. Montague Street.
From 10:00 a.m. to noon, we will plant seeds in planting trays and donated egg carton (bring yours if you have any), AND bundle seed packers -- all to giveaway to willing homeowners and friends.  The idea is to get more people to grow fresh veggies for AFAC, who now has a big walk-in refrigerator to handle the produce contributions in a timely way.
At noon, you are invited to walk the Brethren Church neighborhood and invite homeowners there to take seeds or pods and grow them for AFAC. We will have instructions for where to deliver the produce when harvested with each item you take.
Or you may want to just distribute the packets and/or pods. If so, stop by Brethren between 11:00 to noon, and take away as many as you can reasonably distribute.  If you would like, consider distributing at your community center, your church, your school.  I plan to go to the Central Library and would love to have someone come with me on Sunday, March 24  The idea is to really help AFAC get more produce grown right here in Arlington.
If you can't help this time, we have two more AFAC projects coming up: a Yard Sale in May, and a Children's Project in June -- see the attached flier for details.

See you soon!
Laura
