Plant-a-Row is a very successful effort to get healthy, nutritious produce to low-income people who need food assistance. And most of the produce in grocery stores is less-than-fresh and definitely not local, so this is both a green and a just effort to make this a better world. Volunteer gardeners have contributed more than 30,000 lbs. of fresh carrots, tomatoes, green beans, greens, peppers, and more via the AFAC Plant-A-Row effort.
