SUMMER 2012: AFAC PRODUCE COLLECTION

Hello Friends --

  The Monthly Service Project is transitioning over the summer months (June, July, & August) to coordinate AFAC produce collection, rather than staging a monthly community project. We'll be back in the fall with once-a-month Community Projects.

Can your church be a produce collection point? What you would need:

  -- Find volunteers to promote and collect your congregation's produce

         * Home grown, farmers market purchased, or even super market purchased (bananas for instance)

  -- Decide who will deliver the collection to AFAC in Shirlington in a timely manner

  We are also reassessing our name, as it seems to be better described as the Community Service Project that meets each month to offer social justice project to benefit either AFAC, A-SPAN, or CULPEPPER GARDEN. Or  some other local agency that we can offer some service.
