Hello Ocean Friendly Gardeners~
We had our first demo day last Friday and got things started. Many thanks to Jenny and her young ones for coming out to help, Steve from Sustainable PG for coming out to help, and Vicki Pearse for coming out with moral support. We watered the fruit trees, cleaned up some leaves and tore out a small section of grass. Woohoo! I have attached a couple photos which will be posted to the blog.
We really need a team of 3-4 volunteers with metal rakes (Steve from PG (pictured) had a really good one!) to spend a solid day on tearing out grass and I think we will have the major part of demo completed. Is there someone who would be willing to lead a team on Saturday or Sunday this weekend? I can help recruit the team (…and if we get a number of people it should go faster!), but I cannot make a trip down to PG this weekend. I can explain the method to our madness (…it’s very basic) to whomever can lead.
Any takers?
Thanks!
Sarah
We haven’t had any takers on leads for a demo day this weekend. Other ideas about how or when to do demo days? I know Fridays are good for Jenny.
Should we “open source” them so that people can come over and demo at their leisure? We could leave up an instruction sheet to provide guidance. Good idea or bad idea?
