Greetings Gardeners!

Happy 2011 to all! I am reaching out in hopes of organizing the group to talk about plans moving forward for 2011. The Monterey Chapter is holding its annual planning meeting next Thursday, Jan. 20. I would love to meet before that, but I don't necessarily think it would be feasible to get everyone together before that date. But who knows?

Proposed dates:
-Thursday, January 20 at 5pm
-Friday, January 21 - afternoon or early evening
-Other dates/times per suggestion

Please message back to let me know when might work for you...when I hear back from enough people I will send around the decided date/time and location (most likely our lovely garden project area!).

Thanks for your help to set a date. I look forward to making plans for this next year!
Sarah

Hi guys,

There is an opportunity that has popped up which, if we want to take advantage of it, further elevates our need to meet soon.  I have pasted it below.

When can we meet, or maybe do a telephone conference to at least establish if we have a use for several service learning students? Please let me know ASAP when could work for you.

Thanks!
Sarah

Subject: Fwd: Laura Lee's Service Learning Class

Dear All:

Happy New Year!!  I want to invite you all to come to my Community Based Watershed Habitat Restoration Service Learning Class to set up partnerships with my students.  This semester I will have 28 students so that each of you could expect to have several students coming to your site.

The class time is:

Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 12:20-1:45.
Light snacks will be provided
Come inside for a parking pass.

As always I am appreciative of all that you do for our students.  I am convinced that they learn more from you than they do from any other aspect of the course.  You can expect that they will serve you for at least 30 hours during the semester!

Thanks,
Laura Lee

Hi Sarah,

Just realized why I didn't see the first garden email. Being on the
E.C., the subject of the email "meeting to discuss goals and plan for
2011" sounds a lot like "annual planning meeting on Jan. 20", the
email about the E.C. meeting we had last night. When I'm catching up
on emails I start with the most recent, so I thought I had already
read it.

Anyway I should be available any evening next week.

I'll be back from Honolulu late Saturday but working up in the North Bay until Monday night... could potentially do T/W evenings next week but am slammed with meetings during the days. It would have to be after 6pm, especially if we're racing for something before the 27th. FYI, Raphael will be gone working in New York through Wednesday night.

I can be pretty flexible and likely make a little time that works with everyone else's schedule.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!  It sounds like we should aim for this Wednesday, January 26th.  How about 6pm?  We can plan to meet at the Green Spot (Forest at Pine in Pacific Grove).

Please email me (not the group) to confirm the time will work for you.

Thanks...and excited to get some brain storming going!

I can be there tomorrow at 6, provided I feel a little better than I do today.

Thank you!
