ocean friendly garden subcommittee meeting notes and next steps

Hello garden enthusiasts!

 

Thanks to everyone who took the time to contribute to our initial brain-storming session. It was very successful thanks to everyone’s ideas and enthusiasm! I have started a Google Group to facilitate our collaboration on this effort…this is how we should plan to communicate (so that we have an archive and can better collaborate…especially as our groups grows!). You should be able to find the group at http://groups.google.com/group/montereyofg and once you are a member you can email all members of the group using the email address monte...@googlegroups.com.

 

I have posted the meeting notes and a task list to the group. Please read through the notes and task list as soon as you get a chance, as you will recall from our meeting that there are a couple items we need to get moving on ASAP. If there’s something on the task list you can help with, please put your name by that task and we’ll know that you have it covered. Please note that if you sign-up for something, we’re counting on you to make it happen…if we all work together, we should be able to get this project going with no problem.

 

Two things I could use everyone’s feedback on:

-Where do we want to house our project log? Do we want to put it on the Monterey Surfrider website (www.surfrider.org/monterey) and create a special page for it, or do we want to start a stand-alone blog that we can link to the website?

 

-Do we want to try to handle next steps at the upcoming Sept. 22 Executive Committee meeting (concurrent to other chapter business), or do we want to handle next steps another time (i.e. before the meeting or some other day before Oct.1)?
