- Date: Friday, January 30
- Time: 4:30pm
- Location: CSUMB, Chapman building, room S128
- Topic: (Relative) Introduction to R
New R users are often given the barebones of introductions to R. This often includes download and installation, using R like a calculator, searching for help, and how to load a specific library in order to use a specific function. There are many other features of R that would greatly help beginning users but are not necessarily covered sufficiently or early enough to maximize the benefit the new R user.
This meeting will be a "back to the basics" discussion, showing off some of the not-as-immediate functionality, tips, and tricks of R and RStudio. The specific set of topics is not set yet (and will adapt somewhat to the audience), but may include snippets of:
- Various data sets
- Other packages and some library management
- R Markdown (Rmd) files for workflows and papers
- Graphics (base) options
- Other (not-in-R) resources for R help (including this group)
This list can easily get intractably large.
Hope to see you there!
