This letter was in last Wednesday's Hoover section of the Bham News.
It was sent on behalf of the Neighborhood Assn.
Mark Hamilton, the manager of the closed store, is now the new manager
of the Riverchase Bruno's store. He says it will be a challenge and
hopes we will shop there.

With all the challenges the Bruno’s stores are facing, I think a few
compliments and words of thanks are in order.
The store at 1561 Montgomery Hwy. has served as a neighborhood grocery
store for many of my neighbors and me for years. Being close to home
is only one positive aspect of this store. The manager Mark Hamilton
and the staff have reached out to surrounding neighbors on a personal
level to seek our input and provide support on lots of occasions.
At our neighborhood functions Mark visits and brings a dish, or he
provides prizes for our kids at our ice cream social. He judges our
best decorations at Christmas and in the fall of the year. He asks
about those who may need help. It is so nice to go in a store where
people greet you by name and ask about your neighbors.
It is also nice to be asked what would make the store a better place
to shop- and then see those recommendations acted on.
There have been many improvements in the cleanliness and product
quality at this store during the past couple of years. That combined
with the friendliness of the staff have made it a great place to shop.
I hope this level of service continues. There are few old fashioned
“neighborhood grocery stores” left, but this is one of them. Thanks to
Mark and everyone involved with the Montgomery Hwy. store.
