to community garden (mr)

Begin

I've been in the garden off and on, but less the last couple weeks as I had an unfortunate encounter with a wasp or hornets nest in the ground and have been pretty out of it with antibiotics ( I got infected and had an ER visit, etc ) and allergy meds, and feeling pretty funky since. I'll be more active in a week or so, but I'm still wobbly , so I'm not doing anything down there but rare watering. It's unusual for me to be so physically inactive, but I can't do more than this just yet. I keep trying to ramp up my activities, but I feel pretty slowed down. I guess it's  just as well with the heat wave we will have this week.
Stay cool. I won't be able to help with the chips at the garden,  as it's just too much for me yet, even if I wore my mask.  I wish they'd delay delivery til after this heat wave is over, as that's brutal when its composting in the heat. The spore activity is intense in those piles in that heat, so be sure to wear a mask if you move that stuff. I got a mold allergy that developed in response to moving an enormous pile of wood chips in the heat at the community garden about 6 years ago. I had no idea how dangerous it was, so I never wore a mask, and now I have allergic induced  asthma from it. The spores can be deadly, so be very very careful. It happened out of left field to me, as I'd never had asthma or allergies before. An N 95 or higher mask is recommended by the experts I consulted with about this.

      Peace, Christmas

Is there any way to delay it to next week, after this heat wave passes?

We have a good start on keeping the invasive crabgrass and other weeds from taking over.  We do NOT want to simply cover up the weeds. We all have to do our best to dig out the crabgrass and other invasive weeds BEFORE we fill up our beds with soil. ( I know we will never get all of the weeds, but we can make a big dent!)
