So they started the beautification process for the ATT box. I have
been trying to water the plants they planted. Has anyone switched to
ATT away from Comcast?

I have been getting great service from Comcast though the bill is hard
to stomach sometimes.

We have recently switched to ATT from Comcast. It's a different
experience since the TV signal now comes thru the internet, not a
traditional cable signal. So there is a box with a hard disc that
records digitally and allows instant replay of live TV, etc. We had
ATT DSL before, and the new high speed internet connection is about 3
times faster than DSL and includes a wireless network. There is at
least one other person near us who has recently set up such a wireless
network for their account. We have had some intermittant problems
with our TV picture that I think may be due to a defective U-verse
box. They have had trouble sending a service person when they say
they will, and one of their service guys said it was because they
don't yet have enough customers in Oakland to set up a local repair
service so they have to come from Dublin.

Hey thanks Chris!

It was nice chatting the other day and I am glad you found a place for
your dog!

The AT&T sales folks have been by at least twice trying to convince us
to switch. It seems like an apples to oranges comparison and AT&T
hasn't been able to articulate the value of switching. In the
meantime, we just learned that Bay Alarm will only work with Comcast
(if we go digital). You can contact Comcast to try and get a bundled
rate and reduce costs. We have such a "deal" for 1-year when we added
HD recently.

And thanks for watering the new plants. That's very nice of you.
