Dear Monstrous Weather Players,
Big Bravo to all of you for continuing to create a compelling and moving and hilarious reading experience!
As a wrap up to the formal closing of the project this Wednesday (although many netprovs continue for a while after closing) ...
.... we're having another all-online LiveWriting
audio session (in other words, the Duluth crew will NOT be gathering in
person at Joellyn and Rob's house, sorry!).
It's in the morning this time (we'll see if that works better for some folks!)
Morning Live Writing Event and Wrap Party!
Thu Aug 11th: at 11am ET / 10am CT / 9am MT / 8am PT (USA TIME ZONES)
During the event — we will hang out in the Google group, reading and writing as usual, and we'll chat in the Hangout and/or the Google Group itself . . . plus we'll open an audio channel that will be available to the first ten who arrive (Google's limit)
Here is the link:
https://hangouts.google.com/hangouts/_/calendar/bmV0cHJvdnJvYndpdEBnbWFpbC5jb20.4b926l6o1ocrulio7bsmu6o27c?authuser=0As far as I know any one of you can be the first to arrive in the Google Hangout.
If you can't get Google Hangout to work, no worries! Just read and write and offer feedback in the Monstrous Weather Google Group!
Let's try these
Rules of the Game for the Livewriting (based on our experience from netprovs past)
1) Turn your camera OFF when you arrive in Hangouts. (Audio is actually more fun and less distracting while you're writing.)
2) Only first 10 people will be able to audio in Hangouts. Everybody can text chat!
3) Say hi and introduce yourself when you arrive and when newcomers join (so everyone knows who's there).
4) Jump into reading and writing on the Monstrous Weather group page as usual.
5)
When you like something you read — right when it makes you laugh or
scares you — READ THE PASSAGE ALOUD. (This is fantastic feedback for
everyone.)
6) Silence is OK.
We'll see how it goes!
Please add feedback to this thread if you have suggestions for future LiveWriting events!
Great writing, everyone!
Rob & Mark
