Sometimes the system requirements aren't very honest, in some cases descriptions say that you need windows 10 or better to be able to run certain programs, mostly games, but then i install them in my windows 7 (64 bits) PC and they run just fine. Before i try that with Audition and see if it's possible to use the latest version i want to hear you out, thx in advance.
If you want to hear what you are recording in windows through your speakers, set 'Listen to this device' by right clicking on the new output channel created in your Sound > Recording window and checking 'Listen to this device', then in the drop down select your output/speakers.
Please, clarify some things is it only in wine that adobe audition refuses to play audio files or does same happen in windows too. Since the problem mostly seems to be restricted to adobe auditions i would say its more or so wine related.
