I have a Nighthawk R8000 router. My Xbox Series X speeds are slow compared to my other devices (phone, computer, etc.). I have my Xbox wired with a Cat6 Ethernet cable. My internet when connected to my Xbox tests at 250 mbps. When I take the ethernet cable out of my Xbox and connect it to my computer I get 550 mbps. Why would my Xbox not be getting the same speed? Dynamic QoS is not enabled.

Its usually because the xbox is testing off a different server and that server isn't saturating it. Games don't take that much bandwidth so even getting 250mbps is way more than will be needed for gaming. The only benefit for faster speeds with that system is the games download quicker.

We've seen it were Xbox and there speed testing services may or may not be the most accurate or reliable. If your wired PC is getting to spec speed thru the router and the Xbox isn't, I would guess that the xbox and there services are the problem. Seen this before with prior xbox consoles. There networking and adapters they use are not that great sometimes. There's was also a problem with the X series xbox ethernet adapters causing network problems when they came out. Not sure if that was ever fully addressed.

So, my Google Mesh System works great! But more recently, my Xbox seems to hate being connected to it. I get 100Mbps up and down when I run a home speed test, but my Xbox is currently showing 3.8mbps/46mbps. I have tried everything: wired to mesh, wireless, hard reset of Xbox, reset of router, new DNS, wipe of MAC, etc.

The speed we currently have is around 30MBPS download and 7 upload while the new one we are getting installed is said to be "Symmetrical 900Mbps upload and download speeds" now that seems insanely fast but mabye that's the norm nowadays?

I can't seem to figure out what's up with my download speeds on XBox Series X. Net searching just seems to find a lot of useless info and people saying "I don't have that problem, you're stupid" to each other.

Now NSFU has incorporated a more artsy or street art approach in various parts of the game. As I will discuss when talking bout the gameplay, NOS returns but now when you trigger the NOS a warp speed/ripple effect occurs. At times, particularly at night, it can look pretty cool however for the rest of the time it just feels out of place and unnecessary. The same goes for the exhaust animations. These effects can be changed in the customization options and can also be turned off in the settings.

Second freeze happened in less than an hour and I was in an xbox party and noticed I was still able to talk, so I went home and closed the game and relaunched it but got stuck on a black screen after the title card.

Hard restarted the xbox again and the 3rd time it froze I decided to launch other games to see if they worked and all I got was either looped audio (quick resumed games), no audio, or a black screen after the title card (unsuccessful launch).

Hi, i have xbox series x and it happened to me too. While i was playing this game, the sound disappeared, so i closed the game and i was not able to open it again: i tried to start other games but they did not work just like nfs.... i did the hard reset and now the console works fine but i uninstalled nfs...

Hi, I've been playing nfs heat on my xbox on gamepass, game started to lose sound, and at the end freezing. Restarted but on launch everything is black and doesnt load. Tries reinstalling game, same happened.

If they had of upped the clock on series x to 1950mhz they could have got an extra tflop of conpute, a much higher pixel fill rate and all the other benefits that come with a higher clock. I also think the cooling system currently on the Series X would have been able to handle the extra heat.

my theory is a bit tinfoil hat but I think they are sandbagging the series S so that in a few years time, (And a few zen+RDNA iterations later), they will release a portable console that plays all the xbox games released on the series consoles.

One of the main reasons I think this is because the series S is iirc, the lowest clocked RDNA 2 GPU part out there, by a decently large margin. And if you look at the power consumption to clock speed graph of RDNA 2 you can see that they could have increased the clockspeed without raising power consumption much at all

Looking at the stats there. From Xbox one X to Xbox series S, reduction in power is about half ( 170 to 85 ). So if they achieve the same for portable Xbox chip, they might reach 40-45 wattage for the whole compute system.

I have seem a portable called Aya Neo. It can sustain 30 watt APU package at good temperatures. Now i can only assume that complete compute system could be upto 40 watts there. Which is great because it matches the compute target for the series S chip as well.

Last week Microsoft shared a wealth of technical detail about the Series X with Digital Foundry and Sony presented a faux public presentation of its cancelled GDC talk about the PS5 featuring lead system architect Mark Cerny. At this point we know more about the Series X than the PS5 but we know enough to see the engineers at Microsoft and Sony have created machines that are very powerful, very fast and very different. Microsoft built for power while Sony emphasized speed. This is going to be a very interesting console generation.

For those who care more about gaming than brand names, the next gen consoles offer an exciting opportunity to compare the effects of power and speed. Cross-platform games from developers who are equally competent with both systems will tell the tale. I expect some games will shine on the Series X while others will be better on the PS5. If this happens, working out why it happened can provide new insights into the contributions power and speed make to different aspects of gaming. This is going to be fun.

I am on a cabled 1000/500mbit connection. Everything is checked, and speed test confirms my solid connection. Nothing else shows any problems with connection, except for MSFS mainly the content manager.

Typical speeds of 60Mbps when my link is capable of 450Mbps. Sometimes it goes a bit faster and sometimes a lot slower. I have a lot of experience with detailed network tuning and spent quite a while investigating the problem live, even looking at the control flow on the https connection with Wireshark, and tried various network setting changes. My conclusion is that the local MS CDN end point in Australia was just serving the content very slowly.
I also tried using a VPN to connect into the CDN at different locations, a local connection made no difference but I was able to get 250-300Mbps connecting to the USA from Australia, while it was nighttime in USA. It was much slower when it was daytime.
I am sure my ISP is not shaping the traffic, I am with a specialist ISP.

Seagate states that users will see virtually no lag in power or speed while using the expansion card. Users can leverage quick resume to instantly start where they left off from multiple titles the same as they would through the internal SSD.

If the Xbox download speed is slow, but the internet is fast on other devices, try restarting your Xbox console. Restarting your Xbox will clear out any temporary files or cached data, and shut down any unnecessary background processes that may be using up bandwidth. This can help free up resources on your Xbox and potentially improve its performance.

However, restarting your Xbox will not necessarily solve all download speed issues, and it may not make a significant difference in cases where the slow download speed is due to a problem with your internet connection or a slow server.

If your Xbox download speed is slow, you can also try changing the DNS server on your Xbox. The Domain Name System (DNS) is a network protocol that translates domain names into numerical IP addresses that computers use to communicate.

When you access a website or download a file on your Xbox, your Xbox will send a request to the DNS server to look up the IP address of the destination server. If the DNS server is slow or unresponsive, it can cause delays in your download speed.

Whether you want to play online, download games, or use streaming services like Xbox Game Pass, having a decent internet connection for your Xbox Series XS is essential. Unfortunately, internet speeds are not always guaranteed and vary based on console setup and your specific internet provider.

But even if your internet speed leaves something to be desired, some nifty tricks help improve your internet speed on your Xbox Series XS. But what are some of these speed-boosting tricks, and how can you use them? Let's find out.

Once inputted, your Xbox Series XS will switch to the DNS server provided by Google, and you should start to see faster internet speeds. To check this, you can test your network settings on your Xbox Series XS to get a full breakdown of your new internet speeds.

Similarly, if you're waiting on a download to finish, you shouldn't be running any apps or games in the background of your console as this will similarly slow your internet speeds. To prevent this, and improve download speeds, follow these steps:

Your games and apps will then stop running in the background of your Xbox Series XS, allowing the console to focus on installing your new game or app. And inversely, if you want to focus on playing online, canceling any background downloads will allow your console to focus on online play, improving internet speeds.

There are numerous ways to improve your Wi-Fi router speed outside your gaming needs, but when it comes to your Xbox Series XS, the most common changes to your setup that could improve internet speed are as follows:

Regardless of your Wi-Fi and Xbox setup, there are always ways to improve and fine-tune the relationship between your Wi-Fi and Xbox. Even when comparing Ethernet to Wi-Fi, many differences may better suit your needs, even with the reliable speeds provided by an Ethernet connection.

Sometimes, regardless of how you fine-tune your Xbox and Wi-Fi hub, various gremlins can cause your internet speed to remain slow. In these cases, it may be best to reset your connection to iron out any seemingly unfixable problems.
