Ground Rules - Code of Conduct

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for joining the email group!

Our goal with this group is to create a more interconnected community and allow for the positive exchange of information and ideas.  I'd like to start a discussion of what a good set of ground rules should be.  I don't expect that we'll have a lot of trouble here, but by setting out expectations at the beginning we'll have a set of guidelines in black an white.  Here's a start:

Be Respectful

One purpose of the list is to better facilitate discussion on various topics.  It's quite likely that we will exchange points of view and ideas that aren't shared by everyone the list.  Sharing differing view points in a clear and respectful manner can be a learning experience for us all.  Let's take differing view points as a chance to better understand each other.  Personal attacks won't be tolerated.  This should be a place where we all feel welcome to share.

Be Relevant

This list is intended for the residents of Monroe.  I'm not sure if we want to be strict about that or not, but the main idea is to help our community to be more interconnected.  Please keep topics and posts relevant to the interests of the community such as: upcoming events, meetings, resources or skills to offer or share, car pooling and so on.
