Terrakion (Rock)
[OVERVIEW]
- As one of Rock Monotype's fastest Pokemon, Terrakion acts as a solid revenge killer
- Unique Fighting STAB allows Terrakion to break through walls that other members can't, such as several Steel-types and Porygon-2.
- Choiced sets are run effectively since he already has great coverage between his two STABs
- Terrakion's main coverage moves, Stone Edge and Close Combat, have poor accuracy and lower Terrakion's defense, respectively.
- Slightly on the frail side and has several common weaknesses; this will often cause Terrakion to switch out after locking into a move, especially if it has just used Close Combat
- Requires a bit of team support in order to break through bulkier walls

Moves
========
- Close Combat is Terrakion's best option for Fighting-type STAB as it boasts a high base power and accuracy and only has the drawback of lowering Terrakion's defenses.
- Stone Edge, although unreliable with accuracy, also has a great base power, hits several targets that could shrug off a Close Combat, and boasts an increased chance to land a Critical Hit.
- Earthquake won't see much use since it has redundant coverage with Close Combat, but it is still useful for hitting Aegislash (on Ghost), Doublade (on Steel), and a few other targets that resist Terrakion's STABs.
- Since Terrakion will mostly be alternating between Close Combat and Stone Edge, the last moveslot is fairly flexible. Iron Head hits Fairy-types that switch into a Close Combat well and has a nifty chance to flinch. Rock Slide is also a useful option since it has a more reliable accuracy than Stone Edge, making it a useful for finishing off weakened opponents when the power difference between Stone Edge and Rock Slide isn't important. Lastly, X-Scissor deals a bit more damage to bulkier Grass-types and Psychic-types.

- The EV spread maximizes both Attack and Speed, and a Jolly nature ensures that Terrakion can outspeed other scarfers and speed tie with other Terrakion.
- The Choice Scarf is the crux of the set; with it, Terrakion becomes a very strong revenge killer, capable of outspeeding +1 Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, Mega Gyarados, etc.
Usage Tips
========
Choice Scarf Terrakion operates best as a late-game cleaner since the lack in power is noticeable without an Attack-boosting item. ______
Team Options
========
- Shuckle provides both Sticky Webs and Stealth Rock, and does so extremely reliably. Stealth Rocks are especially useful for Terrakion for weakening the opposing team to secure a few KOs. Also, Terrakion will tend to force switches, which will rack up hazard damage. While Terrakion doesn't necessarily need Sticky Web support, Sticky Webs will allow Terrakion to outspeed Sand Rush Excadrill and cleanly OHKO.
- Cradily is a great switch in for Ground- and Water-types and loves to absorb Scalds for Terrakion. Like Shuckle, it may also provide Stealth Rock effectively.
- Tyranitar is capable of removing bulky Psychic-types that Terrakion, particularly Scarf Latios and Slowbro, and activates Sandstorm, which lets Terrakion take a few weaker special attacks and removes a few Focus Sashes.
- Shell Smash Omastar is useful for removing Ground-types that Terrakion can't break through, such as Landorus-Therian and Hippowdon, as well as Skarmory and Mega Sableye.
- Since Terrakion is prone to priority after using Close Combat, Rhyperior is a useful teammate that shrugs off most priority attacks (bar Aqua Jet). Rhyperior can also check several Steel-types that Terrakion can't break through, like Scizor and Jirachi.

Moves
========
- Close Combat, powered up by Choice Band, is great Fighting-type STAB with few drawbacks and is great for dismantling the opposing team.
- Stone Edge provides great coverage alongside Close Combat, hitting Poison-, Flying-, and Ghost-types for great damage; it also has a greater chance to flinch.
- Earthquake won't see much use since it has redundant coverage with Close Combat, but it is still useful for hitting Aegislash (on Ghost), Doublade (on Steel), and a few other targets that resist Terrakion's STABs.
- Quick Attack, although it isn't a good move to lock yourself into, is still a useful form of priority. Quick Attack lets you pick off weakened threats, such as Belly Drum Azumarill, that could successfully sweep the team otherwise.
- Rock Slide is a useful alternative for either Quick Attack and Earthquake because it has a slightly higher accuracy than Stone Edge and should be used when the power difference between the two doesn't matter. It also provides a useful chance to flinch which could make a huge difference when breaking down walls.

Other Options
=============
- Terrakion usually only needs to rely on Close Combat and Stone Edge on its movesets, so using the remaining slots for a Swords Dance + Taunt is usable. This allows Terrakion to get past Mew and Skarmory, both of which will cause trouble for Terrakion. Terrakion will struggle to find time to set up and lacks the revenge killing capability of the Choice Scarf set and the immediate power of the Choice Band set.
- A Focus Sash Lead set could be considered since Terrakion boasts great Speed and access to both Taunt and Stealth Rock. However, Terrakion is best used late-game for its useful Fighting-type STAB and should be preserved until then. It is best to opt for another Stealth Rock setter like Cradily, Shuckle, or Tyranitar.
